Light bulbs

Introduction

Everyday we use light bulbs in our house and often need to replace them because they have blown from old age. The problem is, you end up going to the shop or hardware store and suddenly you have this whole range of light bulbs in front of you and you have absolutely no idea which one you need as the replacement for the bulb that has just blown in your house. Or, if you are like one of my friends, who, in their 48 years of living, has never had to change a bulb and now suddenly has to do it, has no idea that you get various types of bulbs. This is no joke, there are people out there who just dont know how to change a light bulb or even knows what to look for.

In todays world, every one is becoming conscious of energy and the best ways to save electricity in your home so that you dont end up paying a huge bill at the end of the month. In order to save energy, the best bulbs to use today are called Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFL) or the more common energy saving lights. These use much less energy than the old Incandescent bulbs. Light bulbs come in many different shapes, sizes, watts, etc The 4 most common types you get are what we are going to deal with here, namely, Screw-in, Bayonet, Ceiling and Halogen light bulbs.
