What you will need:

Step 1

Using your template, cut out 1 circle and 7 petals for a single layered, or 14 petals for a double layered flower from your scraps of paper.

Step 2

Cut out a small piece of cardboard or chipboard. It needs to be smaller than the circle for the centre of the flower. Add a blob of glue to the cardboard

Step 3

Now you need to glue the flower petals onto the piece of cardboard. The flower petals need to face the same direction.

Step 4

Now you are going to add the top layer of flower petals. These need to be stuck down in the opposite direction. If you look at the picture you will see how they join on top.

add second layer of petals

Your flower is now complete. You can use this technique to make a sun, a single layer, or a double layered flower for a special card or for your scrapbook.

If you would like more of a 3D flower, cut your petals out of chipboard and then cover them in paper. You can also add glitter, dimensional glaze or other embellishments.
