Crafty Corner offers fun kids craft activities and ideas for kid's birthday parties or family get togethers!
What better way to keep the girls & boys occupied at a large family gathering or birthday party than with a fantastic kids craft party!
We offer a range of kids craft party activities, from Mosaic, Fabric Painting and Glass Painting, to Beading, Scrapbooking and Sand Art. We prefer to offer only one type of craft at each kids craft party as this reduces stress on the kids and us, and helps everyone to focus on the task at hand. A minimum of 10 children are required for a craft party, but should you wish for a smaller group, please let us know and we can work out pricing accordingly.
Kids Party Themes
Crafts can be tailored to suit a specific party theme – be that a jungle or underwater theme, or something sport specific or a princess or pirate party, the options are endless! Let us know if you have a specific theme and we can arrange the kids craft party activity based on your ideas.
Most boys and girls usually have a good idea of what theme they would like for their birthday party, so let us tailor our crafts to fit in with the overall theme of the kids craft party.
Venues
Crafty Corner will come to your party venue. The venue could be your home, a special kids party venue, or a church hall or other venue that you have hired for the party. A travel fee may apply depending on the location of the venue. Our office is based in Roosevelt Park, Johannesburg, and we are ideally situated to offer kids craft parties at venues throughout Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
Cost
Our crafts are reasonably priced from R80,00 to R110,00 per child. This includes all materials and equipment that is required, and, of course, each child will get to keep their masterpiece!
A breakdown of each craft activity and the cost of each craft is given below, but please bear in mind that prior to any kids craft party, we need at least a one week notice for final numbers, ratio of girls and boys, as well as venue confirmation and a 50% deposit. There may also be additional costs for small groups, or if we need to travel to a venue not near our studio.
Craft Kits
We also offer Craft Kits for each craft for you to purchase for your budding little crafter/artist, or as a take home "thank you gift" for the other kids attending the party. As a third option, you could always purchase the kits and facilitate your own party!
Kids Craft Class Parties are an excellent way for children to explore their creativity and use their learning skills to have fun! This is a fantastic way for children to explore colour and express themselves, develop fine motor skills and have fun!
Beading craft parties
Time: Allow 60 - 90min, depending on the size and age of the group.
Difficulty: From ages 4+. More challenging parameters are set for the older kids and adults who want to join.
Safety: No toxic materials are used, however, small beads are a choking hazard and the wire needs to be handled carefully.

This is a simple, fun beading craft party that is highly enjoyable. Each child's creation is a work of art, a unique creation that they can wear and enjoy for a days and even weeks after the party.
This craft puts into action their fine motor skills, decision making, creative ideas, pattern interpretation, colour skills, memory and so much more!
They are free to express themselves, through pattern and colour. With the basic skills shown to them at this craft party, they could start producing little beaded works at home as well, with your help as an adult.
Fabric painting craft parties
Time: Allow 60 - 90min, depending on the size and age of the group.
Difficulty: From ages 4+. More challenging parameters are set for the older kids and adults who want to join.
Safety: The paints used are non-toxic and are safe for all ages.
Cost: R110,00 per child. A minimum of 10 children are required at this cost. Should you wish for a smaller party, please contact us to discuss costs with us.
Children will be provided with a sheet of fabric, apron, pillow case, book cover or t-shirt depending on what they would like and various colour pots (fabric paint). They will colour in an image in the theme of the party on their fabric, using brushes provided to apply the paint. We will guide and encourage their creativity. With various types of paint available, glitters and stamps at the ready – each child will have various options and ideas open to them, to test and trial. Fabric painting, by nature, is fun. For younger kids, this is highly recommended as they cannot really go wrong! They can paint as madly as they wish, we will use a gold or silver outline to enhance the painting and or create a design over the paint. This is very effective when finished.
The kids will be able to express themselves freely, making colourful and extravagant works, or more subtle and refined works. Each child is different and so too are their art styles. However, working within a group, children will experiment more by copying what they see and often encouraging each other. This is a great way for them to find their own "style", experiment with others and come up with their own creative ideas. They will see how colours work next to each other, or over and on top of each other, and this introduces them to colour theory. There is no end to colour therapy here as the more they play, the more they will visually have in front of them and can process the colour changes and interactions.
Glass painting craft parties
Time: Allow 60 - 90min, depending on the size and age of the group.
Difficulty: From ages 4+. More challenging parameters are set for the older kids and adults who want to join.
Safety: All paints used are non-toxic.

Children will be provided with a square sheet of mirror and various colour pots (glass paint). They will be encouraged to colour in a pre-set image on their mirror, using the brushes provided to apply the paint to the mirror. We will guide them and encourage their creativity.
Should the age group be older, we will have them start by decorating the mirror with a design before painting, providing an added challenge to stimulate older minds.
Children are free to express themselves through pattern and colour. With the basic skills shown to them at this craft class, they will be able to interpret the exercise as they wish, taking note of what others are doing, learning from each other as well as defining their own style.
Children will be able to express themselves using their imagination and colour at their disposal. Creating something exceptionally beautiful for their room, something they will keep and fondly remember creating. It will be something they can feel proud of, when we create, we shine!
Mosaic craft parties
Time: Allow 60 - 90min, depending on the size and age of the group.
Difficulty: From ages 4+. More challenging parameters are set for the older kids and adults who want to join.
Safety: No goggles or gloves required as tiles are pre-cut and not cut on site. Ceramic tiles (which have sharper edges) are not used. Hands may get dirty with glue and grout, but this will easily wash off.

Our mosaic craft parties focus on decorating a specific shape, such as a heart, flower or square. This is a great craft idea for kids from 4yrs of age. It is a wonderfully simple, yet very effective craft class to build confidence and creativity.
Mosaic is fun, easy and creative! Children are able to put into practice all forms of learning; memory, decision making, concentration, problem solving, fine motor skills, co-ordinating thought and action... Oh, the list goes on!
They are free to express themselves through pattern and colour. With the basic skills shown to them at this craft class, they will be able to interpret the exercise as they wish – taking note of what others are doing, learning from each other as well as defining their own style.
Sand Art craft parties
Time: Allow 45 - 60min, depending on the size and age of the group.
Difficulty: From ages 2+. More challenging pictures are given to older kids and adults who want to join.
Safety: Hands may get a little dirty, but this will easily wash off.

Children will be provided with a set image on an A4 sized sticker card and the variety of colourful sand to decorate. They will be encouraged to decorate the images, using the colourful sand provided. We will guide and encourage their creativity.
Children will be able to express themselves using their imagination and colour at their disposal. This is an ideal craft, especially for younger kids, as it allows them to create something exceptionally beautiful to take home without having to learn very fine motor skills.
Scrapbooking craft parties
Time: Allow 60 - 90min, depending on the size and age of the group.
Difficulty: From ages 4+. More challenging parameters are set for the older kids and adults who want to join.
Safety: Hands may get sticky with glue, but this will easily wash off.
Cost: R80,00 per child. A minimum of 10 children are required at this cost. Should you wish for a smaller party, please contact us to discuss costs with us.
Children will be provided set shapes and or letters plus all paper and embellishments to decorate. They will be encouraged to decorate the shapes and letters, using patterned papers and the glue provided. We will guide and encourage their creativity. With us to help them in the basic scrapbooking techniques, they will learn a craft that they can develop further should they wish.
For older kids, we will provide a scrapbooking project that is slightly more advanced for an added challenge to stimulate older minds.
Children will be able to express themselves using their imagination and colour at their disposal. Creating something exceptionally beautiful for their room , something they will keep and fondly remember creating. It will be something they can feel proud of, when we create, we shine!
